Especially after the length of time since the last one, as with everything this delay was, of course, contributed to by Covid-19, it was wonderful to be able to hold a Confirmation Service at Holy Trinity Queenborough on 9th June 2022. Six members of West Sheppey Parish were confirmed in a beautiful service and gave testimony to their faith.
Bishop Rose had been due to preside but was unfortunately unable to be there. However, we were blessed to have Bishop Richard Llewellyn stepping into the breach. His down to earth approach complimented that of Reverend Paul Kite, who was serving with him and put any nervous candidates at their ease. Hearing the organ played made the service even more special as, sadly, it has not been possible for the organ to be played in recent times.
It was lovely seeing the beautiful church, still decorated with flowers from the recent flower festival along with some special arrangements for this service, full of members of congregations from across the Parish, families and friends supporting the candidates. The evening was full of love and joy and peace.
Following the service was a celebration of the confirmation with the highlight of the refreshments being the cake, kindly made by a member of the congregation for the event. A perfect opportunity for everyone to relax and chat and soak up the atmosphere.
