A Fresh Start …

…or back to the old?

September - the children are going back to school but to the start of a new school year. For some this is just moving up a year to a different class and for many a different class teacher. For others it means a whole new school or college or university or the start of a career.

Teachers have a different class to get to know and teach; parents have the term-time routines to get back to. Summer jobs are coming to a close. Term time clubs and groups are restarting…

September could be seen as a time of new beginnings. The opportunity of having a fresh start.

That could mean a chance to start again and rebuild. It could mean putting the past behind us and to stop worrying about mistakes. It could be a chance to do what should be done.

A fresh start can give us the chance to recalibrate what is important in our lives and surroundings. It can give us the space to make better decisions and remove negative influences. It can be a chance to break bad habits and form new habits that are compatible with our values. It can bring more clarity into our lives and help to bring what we need to see into focus.

We serve a God of grace, who sacrificed His Son to save us and who freely gives us His grace - not because we are deserving but because He loves us so much. So wipe the slate clean and have that fresh start with Jesus as our life coach, our guide, our example…

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105)

With love,

Angie
