Summer has arrived (finally), schools have closed, suitcases are packed, graduations have been completed. Days are bright and sunny. Warm and happy are our days. Functions to attend, BBQs to have, family fun days to participate in. Photos will be taken, drinks will be drunk, games will be played, and much laughter will be had. Fun, fun, fun.
But have you forgotten someone?
Have you included someone?
Or have you left them behind for the summer fun, just to check in on them with the occasional Sunday service to show you have not forgotten them. You do know Jesus likes to join in with the fun too. Jesus shared lively meals with his friends. He drank with them, He had so much fun and acted so freely around the dinner table the up-tight religious leaders called Him a glutton and a drunkard (Matt 11:19).
So, I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard-work God gives them under the sun (ecc8,15).
Have fun this summer, enjoy your days and do not fret or worry, Matthew 6 tells us not to. Enjoy your days and do not forget to invite and take Jesus along with you to the party, you never know when you might bump into someone who would like to be introduced to our friend, our Lord, our God, Jesus.
